The Old Fashioned has been considered an “old fashioned” cocktail for over a hundred years. It’s making a bit of a revival but isn’t a modern cocktail. However, it’s easy and tasty and worth having every now and again.
Old Fashioned

2 oz Bourbon
1 Sugar Cube
2 to 3 dashes Bitters
- Garnish Ideas
Lemon Wedge / Twist
Orange Slice / Twist
Maraschino Cherry
Directions
- Add the sugar cube and bitters to a glass.
- Muddle to mix until sugar is disolved.
- Add whisky & ice.
- Stir well.
- Garnish & Enjoy!
Notes
- No sugar cubes? No problem. You can use simple syrup instead.
Simple Syrup is so easy to make yourself. In a saucepan, combine equal parts sugar and water. Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat & allow to cool.
